Comments on EPA’s proposed light-duty vehicle greenhouse gas emissions standards for model years 2023-2026

ACEEE filed comments in response to EPA's notice of proposed rulemaking to "Revise Existing National GHG Emissions Standards for Passenger Cars and Light Trucks Through Model Year 2026.” The United States needs strong vehicle standards to make progress toward the Biden administration's 2030 greenhouse gas reduction and electric vehicle goals. The comments argue that the proposed targets for MY 2023-2026 fall far short of what is needed and include a number of unnecessary incentives that reduce the effective stringency of the standards. Stronger standards are possible and achievable.
