ACEEE is helping build the highly skilled, growing workforce needed to deliver clean energy and energy efficiency programs and projects.
In the United States, more than 2 million people are employed in energy efficiency, the largest sector of the energy industry. There are countless workforce development, training, and placement programs across the United States that operate at national, state, local, and community levels; however, the current ecosystem does not produce the number of skilled workers needed to meet demand in building and industrial construction operations and maintenance.
Our work aims to provide credible information and resources and to map pathways for practitioners, policymakers, advocates, and funders to build new and improve existing workforce development efforts across the country that will result in the workforce needed to deliver on our climate and energy goals.
Conduct research that evaluates the best practices in workforce development
Collaborate with public and private stakeholders to develop and advance programs and policies that will grow and resource those best practices
Provide technical assistance to place-based programs
Expedite program growth via peer-sharing at the state, local, and national levels
