e-Book Panel & Webinar: People-Centered Initiatives for Increasing Energy Savings

Insights from the social sciences are showing that a variety of social influences drive new innovations and behaviors that, in turn, can significantly change the patterns of technology adoption and energy consumption. However, there remains a large gap in the available information that might help policymakers and program managers more effectively integrate "people-centered insights and initiatives" into current efforts to accelerate cost-effective energy savings.

On March 23rd, 2011, Karen Ehrhardt-Martinez and John A. "Skip" Laitner led an hour-long panel discussion and webinar exploring the major findings of the recently published ACEEE e-Book that they co-edited, People-Centered Initiatives for Increasing Energy Savings.

Skip Laitner is ACEEE's Director of Economic and Social Analysis, and Karen Ehrhardt-Martinez is a Senior Associate at the Renewable and Sustainable Energy Institute, University of Colorado.  Ben Foster hosted the event at ACEEE's offices in Washington, D.C.
