Meeting electric peak demand has long been one of the utility industry’s biggest challenges—a challenge that has grown with soaring costs and strained electricity supply grids. This report examines how energy efficiency can be used to help address this challenge. It presents results of research conducted on experience with achieving peak demand savings from energy efficiency programs. The report also examines industry practices and technical references for estimating such impacts.
