Reaching Rental Property Owners to Advance Energy Efficiency

January 29, 2026 | 1:00pm – 3:00pm EST

This webinar highlighted different strategies and resources used to identify and engage rental property owners, particularly those with only one or a few properties.

Description:

Rental properties tend to be significantly less energy-efficient than owner-occupied homes, contributing to high utility costs that leave nearly one-third of renters behind on their energy bills. While comprehensive, cost‑effective energy-efficiency upgrades can deliver meaningful savings for both residents and property owners, these improvements require owner approval, and many retrofit programs struggle to identify and appeal to owners. This webinar explored different strategies and resources that can be used to identify and engage rental property owners, particularly those with only one or a few properties.

This webinar is hosted by Roxana Ayala, from ACEEE and includes a presentation from Lauren Lowery from the National League of Cities and Joe Lange from the City of Ann Arbor, MI.
