Organization: Clean Energy Buyer's Association

Closing Date:

Chaloner has partnered with The Clean Energy Buyer’s Association (“CEBA”) on a search for an Associate, Global Programs, Markets & Policy. The Associate will report to the Manager, Global Programs.

Position Overview:

The Clean Energy Buyer’s Association (CEBA) works to solve the toughest market and policy barriers and deploy solutions for energy customers to pursue clean energy and decarbonize grids. CEBA launched Global Programs in 2023 to accelerate clean energy procurement to achieve our mission of low-cost, reliable, carbon emissions free global energy systems. This is an exciting opportunity to be an integral part of a growing team that is actively expanding a global portfolio of projects and programs to deliver on these goals.

We are seeking an Associate to support the development and execution of CEBA’s Global Programs market and policy portfolio. CEBA’s market and policy portfolio is concentrated in the Asia Pacific (APAC) region, where growing corporate clean energy demand from CEBA members and their supply chain companies continues to outpace supply due to policy and market constraints. The Associate will support all activities related to CEBA’s global market and policy team’s core initiatives of (1) advancing policy and regulatory initiatives to expand market access and investment to accelerate clean energy deployment; and (2) expanding and improving the menu of clean energy procurement options through targeted policy advisory and advocacy activities.

Core Responsibilities:

The Associate will be responsible for providing essential support in the design and execution of the Global Market and Policy team’s programmatic portfolio, including research and analysis, member engagement, communications, events, partnerships, and business development. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Research & Analysis: provide research and analytical support on key issues related to corporate clean energy procurement and market and policy barriers in APAC. Support the development of CEBA global resources, including policy and market briefs, playbooks, reports, presentations, etc.

  • Program Reporting and Evaluation: track and report on CEBA’s market and policy activities to inform progress on goals.
  • Member Engagement: act as the main liaison between the Global Programs market and policy team and CEBA new and potential members. Lead planning and execution of monthly Global Policy Team member meetings.
  • Partner Collaboration: support the facilitation and growth of ongoing and new partnerships in the delivery of collaborative events, resources, and other activities.
  • Program Events: provide logistical support and content development and curation for workshops, meetings, webinars, and other discussions to advance programmatic goals.
  • Business Development: provide support on business development and fundraising initiatives, including development of concept notes, proposals, and presentations.
  • Program Strategy: support development and refinement of Global Policy & Markets strategy, including theory of change, approach and methodology, goals and objectives, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree and 5+ years of experience or master’s degree and at least 2+ years of experience.
  • Relevant experience: demonstrated experience in and knowledge of clean energy policy, programs, and markets.
  • Results driver: exceptional organizational, task management and prioritization skills and ability to execute and deliver on tasks and project responsibilities amidst multiple competing deadlines.  Driven by impact and organizational success.
  • Critical thinker: ability to identify, analyze, dissect, and explain complex problems, and apply analyses, models, and structures to develop and propose effective solutions.
  • Impactful communicator: excellent cross-cultural competency and communication skills, including the ability to listen actively and effectively, and present key points clearly and accurately, both verbally and in writing to different stakeholders. Able to lead and facilitate group discussions effectively within and outside the organization.
  • Team partner: a “connector” who can work independently and collaboratively within a dynamic team environment, build positive relationships with colleagues and stakeholders, identify risks and challenges, and proactively solicit/provide constructive feedback and support.
  • Change champion: demonstrate initiative to improve processes and solutions with peers. Willingness to support new initiatives, flexibility to adjust priorities when new information is presented, and capacity to handle unexpected challenges in a fast-paced work environment.
