The simplest way to support ACEEE is a direct donation through our secure giving portal. You can give once or set up a monthly recurring gift. A recurring monthly gift is one of the most effective ways to sustain ACEEE’s work year-round. Consistent contributions, no matter the size, allow us to plan long-term, respond to policy windows quickly, and keep independent research moving even in uncertain funding environments. Donating appreciated securities, such as stocks, bonds, or mutual fund shares, may offer significant tax advantages compared with a cash gift. You avoid capital gains tax on the appreciation and receive a charitable deduction for the full fair-market value on the date of transfer. A bequest or planned gift is one of the most meaningful ways to leave a lasting legacy for energy efficiency. By including ACEEE in your will, trust, or beneficiary designation, you help ensure that the work of making energy go further continues for future generations. 

• Bequests through your will or living trust
  You direct that a specific amount of money, property, or other holdings be transferred to ACEEE. Sample language to include in your will or living trust:
  I bequeath [the sum of ______ dollars OR an amount equal to ______ percent of the net value of my estate] to the American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy, Federal Tax ID 94-2711707, a nonprofit organization headquartered in Washington, DC. It is my intent that these resources be used for the area of greatest need at the time they are received [OR identify a specific purpose you have discussed with ACEEE].
• Beneficiary designations
  Name ACEEE as a beneficiary of a retirement account (IRA, 401(k)) or life insurance policy to transfer assets that your will does not control. You fill out a beneficiary designation form, separate from your will, using our legal name, American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy, and Federal Tax ID 94-2711707. A beneficiary designation is easy to set up and flexible; you can review and adjust it at any time.
• Charitable remainder trusts 

Every legacy gift, regardless of size, makes a difference. Please let us know if you intend to or already have included ACEEE in your estate plan. Notifying us will give ACEEE the opportunity to welcome you to the Asilomar Society, named in honor of the beautiful conference grounds in Pacific Grove, California, where ACEEE has convened the energy efficiency community for many years.
