ACEEE secures energy-saving wins for families and businesses
ACEEE turns ambition into action. Our research, advocacy, and collaborations with communities help families and businesses across the country have more control over the energy they use and the bills they pay.
ACEEE helped craft the Home Energy Rebate program, which states implement with $9 billion of federal support to help weatherize homes and install efficient equipment.
We’ve encouraged and shaped utilities' investments in EV charging infrastructure, resulting in about $7 billion invested nationwide, with 32% going to underserved communities.
Through a multiyear campaign, we helped build momentum for electrifying industrial heat. By the end of 2025, more than 45 industrial heat pump projects were operating, under construction, or announced—up from fewer than a dozen in 2020.
ACEEE works to strengthen utilities’ energy efficiency programs, and in 2025, we worked in coalition with state partners in Illinois to help pass legislation that triples the share of spending dedicated to helping low-income households make efficiency improvements.
Our Behavior, Energy, Action, and Research (BEAR) Hub collaborated closely with five partners in 2025 to help them integrate behavioral science-based approaches in their energy-saving efforts.
Our Energy Equity for Renters initiative provided no-cost technical assistance to 10 cities and community-based organizations in 2025 to help their efforts to deliver energy efficiency upgrades while preserving or expanding affordable rental housing.
