Northeast Oregon Account Manager (Advanced Energy)

TRC is seeking an experienced Account Manager located in NE Oregon to join our team. We are looking for an outgoing and technically skilled candidate with electric or natural gas energy systems (HVAC, water heating, motors, etc.) experience to support a small/medium/large business focused energy-efficiency program in the NE Oregon corner of the State. The ideal candidate will use their understanding of the regional area to build and maintain relationships with commercial property owners and managers, distributors, installers of energy systems, and local community organizations. You will act as the single point of contact for the program and be responsible for engaging customers and contractors through phone, email, and in-person meetings and events (pending Covid-19) to promote program offerings and identify energy-efficiency improvements at customer sites. Alongside your outreach role, you will be responsible for working with the client, building lasting relationships and working as part of a diverse team. You will provide the team with market intelligence, updated technology and trends all the while cultivating, creating and maintaining relationships with key players within the market.

The position entails the following responsibilities:

  • Communicate Program services via email, phone, and in-person meetings and presentations with commercial property owners, managers, maintenance staff, and contractors
  • Use proprietary evaluation software to record existing system conditions during a property walkthrough and make energy efficiency recommendations at commercial properties
  • Present Program recommendations to key market stakeholders and decision makers
  • Collaborate with existing contractor network to train, educate, and support customer project bid acquisition
  • Work collaboratively across the account management team to assist in identifying and closing shared projects
  • Actively engage appropriate trade groups and associations to promote Program offerings and services
  • Work with operations and project coordination staff to populate CRM database to provide accurate project forecasting, market knowledge, customer information, and project documentation
  • Support and collaborate with utility client outreach staff to engage public organizations and market stakeholders as necessary
  • Outreach and travel within territory using personal vehicle. Mileage and travel costs will be reimbursed.

Ideal candidates will have most of the following skills and experience:

  • BS/BA degree is preferred, but not required
  • 5+ years proven experience in working in the sales, account management, marketing project management and/or with utilities or energy contracting firms
  • Technical knowledge of lighting, mechanical, utility systems, energy efficiency programs, and/or building systems
  • In-depth, working knowledge of commercial energy savings technologies, including HVAC, motors, and water heating systems
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills required
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to work with diverse commercial contractors
  • Experience conducting and/or supporting webinars or in-person trainings with a focus on energy savings technologies is preferred
  • ​Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word and the ability to learn to use proprietary customer relationships management (CRM) systems
  • Knowledge of local laws and relevant building and energy conservation codes
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus, but not required
