This report documents the qualitative results of an Energy Center of Wisconsin study of public opinion regarding electric utility restructuring in Wisconsin. The study is based on focus groups and interviews with residential and small commercial/industrial utility customers.
The report summarizes customer views regarding their experience with and attitudes towards their electric utility, important aspects of electric service, awareness of and attitudes toward industry restructuring, and opinions on how deregulation might affect different groups of utility customers. The report has been made available to utilities, Wisconsin legislators, Wisconsin advocacy groups, the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin, and interested groups around the nation.
The Energy Center of Wisconsin is a private nonprofit organization dedicated to improving energy efficiency in Wisconsin. With support from Wisconsin's energy utilities, the Center provides energy-efficiency programs, research, and education to residents, businesses, and government.
