This paper discusses the results of a field survey of new commercial buildings that examined how current construction practice compares in lighting energy intensity to the proposed ASHRAE/IES standard. The conclusion is that the proposed standard will be easy to meet in most buildings. Presented at the Illuminating Engineering Society Annual Conference.
