ABSTRACT
Optimization of existing commercial buildings provides a very large potential
for cost-effective energy savings, not to mention other benefits such as
improved occupant comfort and increased equipment reliability and life. This
report reviews current knowledge about optimization strategies and markets
and suggests that a comprehensive approach is needed to address market barriers
and build the demand for and supply of optimization services.
