ACEEE JOB OPENING: FINANCE ASSISTANT
Job opening: Finance Assistant
Description: The American Council for an Energy Efficient Economy (ACEEE) (www.aceee.org) is a Washington, DC-based national nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing energy efficiency as a means of promoting both economic prosperity and environmental protection. It is a 501 (c) (3) organization with 25 staff members and a $4.1 million annual budget.
ACEEE is seeking an energetic and highly organized Finance/Accounting professional to help manage its accounting functions.
The responsibilities of the Finance Assistant will include:

Cash receipts and accounts receivable. Process receipts and deposits, track accounts receivable.
- Cash disbursements and accounts payable. Process all disbursements and approvals on invoices, process checks.
- Foundation and government grants. Track and report on grants. Assist staff with preparation of financial aspects of grant proposals and reports.
- Contracts with various entities. Track and invoice for a number of different styles of contracts.
- Financial reporting. Produce monthly project and organizational financial reports for staff. Also produce reports for Board of Directors and auditors.
- This position reports to the Director of Finance and works closely with the Executive Director.
Additional Qualifications:

1-3 years of accounting experience in a nonprofit organization preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance preferred.
- Proficiency in accounting software skills (preferably Microsoft Dynamics and FRx), and A/P, A/R.
- Detail and deadline oriented.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Good computer skills, including demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Start Date: Position will be filled as soon as suitable candidate is found.
Salary: Salary to $40K (depending upon experience) with an excellent “cafeteria-style” benefit package.
