Smart Growth Policies

Summary: In 2000, Wisconsin passed a Comprehensive Planning Law aimed at providing municipalities with the necessary tools to create comprehensive land-use plans. As part of the legislation, grants are available for local governments interested in creating detailed land-use plans and the state also awards dividends to municipalities that adopt plans in line with state standards.
