Summary:

Mississippi's residential and commercial energy codes are voluntary, except for state-owned buildings, public buildings, and high-rise buildings. Mississippi's residential code is based on ASHRAE 90 – 1975 and the prior 92 MEC, and is voluntary. The commercial code is also based on ASHRAE 90-1975.
