State Tax Incentives for High Efficiency and Alternative-Fuel Vehicles

Summary: The state of Louisiana offers a tax credit worth 20% of the cost of converting a vehicle to operate on alternative fuels or 20% of the incremental cost of a hybrid-electric vehicle (HEV). The tax credit must not exceed $1,500 or 2% of the total cost of new vehicle and covers vehicles that run on fuels which meet or exceed federal clean air standards.
