Energy Markets Analysis
"Not your parents' energy crisis." --Thomas Friedman, 2006.
The energy supply and price has become a pressing issue as markets have tightened for all conventional energy supply resources. For almost a decade ACEEE has been tracking energy supply markets, both to better understand the cost effectiveness of energy efficiency resources, but also to understand the role for efficiency resources in rebalancing North American energy markets.
Activities
Our efforts have focused on two specific markets:
- Natural Gas
Persistently high natural gas prices, coupled with increasing oil
and electric costs, threaten our economy and consumers' wallets
and are expected to remain high. ACEEE is working on energy efficiency
responses to this unfolding crisis that can keep prices from spiking
higher and threatening gas supplies.
- Petroleum
