The industrial sectors in Canada and the United States are poised to enter a period of major, new capacity investment if they are to remain globally competitive. This potential period of reinvestment represents an opportunity to create a more efficient and sustainable manufacturing sector.
The focus of the symposium will be on envisioning how the manufacturing sector will evolve beyond equipment and process efficiency to integration of both (optimization throughout the value chain). Canada and the U.S. are included together because their manufacturing sectors in reality are fully integrated. The symposium will consider a range of topics that will explore the transformation of the manufacturing sector for the 21st Century.
