Additional Informal Sessions may be organized on-site during the Summer Study.

Innovation in Energy Research and Development - and Deployment: What If Money Didn't Matter?

Suzanne Watson

Tuesday, August 19
2:00 PM - 4:00 PM

As federal climate legislation comes to the forefront again next year, a cap and trade initiative may become a reality. If it does, there will be a need to decide how future money and expertise is to be directed towards innovation: new ideas, new programs, new technologies, and new ways to get it all into the marketplace. We propose an informal discussion to swap our innovative reflections with each other. The hope is to get these ideas and brilliant flashes of intellect down on paper to actually use in later deliberations as to what an effective R&D - and D initiative might look like - if we have the opportunity to see significant funding from a cap and trade program in the US. Come with ideas or plan to create them on the spot; no one escapes without some input to the process.
