Technology Needs for Zero Energy Buildings
Ren Anderson
Monday, August 18
4:00 PM - 6:00 PM
Buildings are the number one user of energy and electricity in the US. Sustainable building technologies are a rapidly growing segment of US and international construction markets. A comprehensive US building technology research program is required to rapidly increase the energy efficiency of US housing and provide technology solutions for developing markets. Participants in this session will review the key performance criteria and critical technologies required to deliver cost-effective zero energy homes. How will the energy systems for future super-efficient homes differ from current practice? Which emerging technologies are likely to make the largest contributions towards meeting future energy savings goals? Please attend to share opportunities to accelerate research on sustainable building technologies and reduce growth in building sector peak electric demand and source energy use!
