2004 ACEEE Summer Study on Energy Efficiency in Buildings

2004 ACEEE Informal Sessions Descriptions

Additional Informal Sessions may be organized on-site during the Summer Study. Visit the office in Surf and Sand to sign up for an Informal Session.

Session Synopsis - "Energy and Water Management in Buildings: Exploring the Links"

David Broustis, City of Seattle
Gary Wolff, Pacific Institute

Monday, August 23
2:00 PM - 4:00 PM

This informal session builds on the Roundtable session on Water and Energy Management Monday morning, exploring the energy implications of water use and water-saving measures in buildings, and the (on-site) water consumption effects of building energy use. A key objective will be to identify additional technology and program opportunities for jointly optimizing energy and water efficiency in buildings, and to establish gaps in knowledge that point to additional research or data gathering. The co-moderators for the morning Roundtable, David Broustis from the City of Seattle and Gary Wolff from the Pacific Institute, will also lead the discussion at this informal session. Participants at the morning Roundtable who would like to continue the discussion in more depth are welcome, as are those who could not attend the morning session.
