2004 ACEEE Informal Sessions Descriptions

Additional Informal Sessions may be organized on-site during the Summer Study. Visit the office in Surf and Sand to sign up for an Informal Session.

Session Synopsis - "High Performance Buildings for High-Tech Industries: Part II
What's So Special About High-Tech Buildings? A Review and Discussion of Energy Efficiency Programs for Laboratories and Cleanrooms. "

Evan Mills, Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory
California Energy Commission
William Lintner, U.S. Department of Energy
Patsy Dugger, Pacific Gas & Electric Company

Monday, August 23
4:00 PM - 6:00 PM

There are currently several programs that focus on high-tech buildings - a niche market that is growing and has idiosyncratic energy efficiency challenges. The purpose of this informal session will be to:

    a) Briefly review current state and federal programs for laboratories and cleanrooms (Labs21, EnergyStar, CEC, others)

    b) Assess if there are any overlaps and gaps among the different programs

    c) Explore opportunities for these programs to leverage each other.
