Session Synopsis - "The 2004 International Energy Conservation Code"

Chris Salp, Responsible Energy Codes Alliance

Monday, August 23
2:00 PM - 4:00 PM

The 2004 IECC, the model code that serves as the basis for many state energy codes, has been published. This code will bring about significant improvements in energy efficiency, simplification of the code, and increased compliance through ease of use. The Department of Energy is moving forward with the process of issuing an EPAct determination to certify this code.

This session will outline the advantages of this improved energy code, what it means for residential energy efficiency, and walk through the latest actions and developments related to the code.
