Session Synopsis - "Update on the Southeast Energy Efficiency Alliance"

Harry Misuriello, Alliance to Save Energy

Thursday, August 26
2:00 PM - 4:00 PM

This session will be useful to those interested in promoting energy efficiency in the Southeast United States. We will provide an update on efforts to establish a new regional group---the Southeast Energy Efficiency Alliance. This new group—SEEA--is envisioned to take on a role similar to other regional efficiency organizations. The presenters will also discuss efforts to promote energy efficiency in the region through a broad strategy of utility, building code and appliance standard initiatives involving regulatory and voluntary program approaches. We will also discuss our recent regulatory progress in Georgia to restore demand-side management programs after a 10-year absence. We are also looking for potential partners who will work with us throughout the region.
