Session Synopsis - "Natural Gas: Role of Energy Efficiency Policies in Responding"

Neal Elliott, ACEEE

Thursday, August 26
2:00 PM - 4:00 PM

In the year since ACEEE identified the potential for energy efficiency policies to address high natural gas policies, the U.S. has seen little public policy action while demand for gas has increased and supplies further tightened and other energy sources have begun to experience supply imbalances. ACEEE is updating its analysis, which is showing that energy efficiency is becoming even more needed to rebalance gas markets. This session will discuss various efficiency policies under consideration by an informal working group of NGO and consumer groups, and brain-storm other efficiency policy responses to this growing problem.
