Synopsis - "ENERGY STAR Residential Lighting Fixtures: New
Developments in Technology and Program Design"

The recent dramatic
increase in shipments of ENERGY STAR qualified residential lighting
fixtures demonstrates growing market interest and demand. To continue
building on this momentum EPA is working on several key outreach initiatives
in various market segments. EPA is also revising the ENERGY STAR technical
specification to further up the bar for quality and performance.
This session will include discussion on:
- New products
available to meet Title 24, including recessed cans.
- Advancements
in technology and the impact on the market.
- New EPA
outreach initiatives to manufacturers, builders, electrical distributors
and other market actors.
- The dramatic
increase in ENERGY STAR qualified fixture shipments and the impact
on regional and national programs.
- Pending
revisions to the ENERGY STAR technical specification (aka Eligibility
Criteria).
- EPA initiatives
to improve color, socket standardization, and other performance
factors.
