2004 ACEEE Informal Sessions Descriptions

Additional Informal Sessions may be organized on-site during the Summer Study. Visit the office in Surf and Sand to sign up for an Informal Session.

Session Synopsis - "Consumer Attitudes, Motivators, and Behaviors Related to Energy Use and Energy Efficiency"

Rozanne Weissman, Alliance to Save Energy

Tuesday, August 24
2:00 PM - 4:00 PM

The Alliance to Save Energy conducted both qualitative and quantitative national consumer market research to examine consumer attitudes, motivators, and behaviors related to energy use and energy efficiency and has some interesting findings to share with ACEEE attendees. The research also notes the differences in New York State, which heavily promotes energy efficiency and Energy Star, on recognition of the Energy Star label and other issues. When the Alliance Director of Communications and Marketing Rozanne Weissman presented earlier Alliance consumer market research at the ACEEE Summer workshop in 1998, there was an overflow crowd that stayed an hour after the session was over -- so come early with questions.
