Efforts to raise the efficiency of set-top boxes have accelerated, but will they be in place before the billion-plus boxes arrive? These boxes could add as much electricity use as half a refrigerator to every US home. Learn about developments in the technologies and policies in Europe, Asia, and the USA. We want to hear your suggestions for policies to prevent manufacturers from racing to the bottom with respect to energy efficiency.
