Session Synopsis - "2005 RECS Data User Needs"

Stephanie J. Battles, Energy Information Administration, DOE
Michael T. Laurence, Energy Information Administration, DOE

Tuesday, August 24
2:00 PM - 4:00 PM

EIA would like to give the RECS data users attending the ACEEE Summer Study the opportunity to discuss and comment on the data that EIA will be collecting on the 2005 RECS. Through the years, we have found that some of the best questions have come from the users of our data. Although our budget does not allow for many new questions, we can add a few new useful questions. In particular, we are looking for new questions that would help us define our end uses: space heating, water heating, air conditioning, refrigeration, and appliances. Additionally, we are interested in adding 1-2 questions concerning energy efficiency. In this session, we will discuss your ideas as to how to make the 2005 RECS, the best yet.

The 2001 RECS questionnaire may be found at http://www.eia.doe.gov/emeu/recs/recsforms.html
