Session Synopsis - "How Will CA Builders Meet the New Title 24 Requirements for Pin-Based CFL Recessed Cans With Current Product Selection?"

Jeff McCullough, PNNL
Graham Parker, PNNL

Thursday, August 26
2:00 PM - 4:00 PM

This session would be a discussion of the implications of the new Title 24 (residential) requirements for use of CFL pin-based recessed cans. The discussion would include but not be limited to:

  • State of the technology that complies with the code and what is the cost of that technology.
  • Where can you - or where in the future - purchase the technology?
  • How will residents react to the current suite of products -- will they be disappointed?
  • What new or improved technologies need to be developed to meet the code and at what price.
  • What kind of technical assistance would be needed to bring new and improved technology to the marketplace/housing industry.
