Session
Synopsis - "Active Mode Energy Efficiency
Opportunities with Power Supplies and Consumer Electronics"
Chris Calwell, Ecos Consulting
Steve Nadel, ACEEE
Monday, August 19
2:00 PM - 4:00 PM
Over 2.5 billion power supplies are in use in the United States today,
consuming 2 to 3% of the nation's entire electric bill. Each one of these
devices presents an opportunity to save energy not only in the familiar
"standby" mode (when the product is idle), but also in the active mode (when
the product is in use). Join Chris Calwell of Ecos Consulting, Steve Nadel
of ACEEE, and a variety of experts from Europe, Asia, and North America in a
lively discussion of new research findings, policies, and programs to
capture this major new source of energy savings.
