Session
Synopsis - "States Technology Advancement Collaborative (STAC)"
Jim Cole, CIEE/ASERTTI
Thursday, August 22
2:00 PM - 4:00 PM
STAC is a new energy technology RD&D program that is being
initiated by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) in partnership with the
National Association of State Energy Officials (NASEO) and the Association
of State Energy Research and Technology Transfer Institutions (ASERTTI). In
2003, STAC will prioritize, plan, competitively select and fund up to $22
million in multiyear energy efficiency, renewable and other energy
technology R&D projects that will be cost-shared on a 50-50% basis by DOE
and state RD&D entities. The purpose of this informal session is to: (a)
discuss plans for initiating and conducting STAC over the next year; and (b)
seek "brainstorming" input from session participants about promising energy
efficiency technologies and RD&D partnerships that might be pursued through
STAC.
