Session
Synopsis - "Making the Business Case from Top to Bottom"
Blaine Collison, ENERGY STAR
Thursday, August 22
2:00 PM - 4:00 PM
Real success in motivating corporate action to improve energy
performance requires motivating decision makers at many levels
throughout the corporation -- from the boardroom to the boiler room.
Reaching this range of decision makers requires a diverse set of efforts
from editorial outreach in the general press to decision support tools
used at the facility level. The Energy Star program is supporting
work across this full spectrum of approaches. In this session,
representatives of the Commercial and Industrial Partnership of Energy
Star will lead a discussion of these efforts. The discussion will
touch on the Energy Star "business-to-business" brand campaign,
editorial outreach, corporate-level energy and financial performance
indicators, business sector value propositions, and various tools for
quantifying the financial value of energy efficiency. In addition to
providing information on these established and emerging Energy Star
efforts, another goal of this session with be to foster peer-to-peer
exchange on successful approaches for making the business case for
investment in energy efficiency to corporate and public sector decision
makers.
