Session
Synopsis - "Tools for Rating Commercial Building Energy Performance"
Adam W. Hinge, Sustainable Energy Partnerships
Doug Gatlin, EPA
Mary Ann Piette, LBNL
Tuesday, August 20
2:00 PM - 4:00 PM
There is a great deal of research and activity underway to deliver energy
efficiency through whole-building performance based approaches in existing
commercial buildings. The EPA Energy Star Buildings Program and new state
initiatives provide valuable tools to measure and benchmark energy
consumption while marketing the financial benefits to practitioners and
decision makers. This session will offer an opportunity to share experiences
on the ways tools are being used in schools, offices and other commercial
buildings, and efforts to refine them to increase their applicability and
usefulness to motivate action.
