Affordable Comfort's mission is to advance the performance of residential buildings through it's annual and regional training events for building professionals on ways to remodel, repair, build, and diagnose homes, so they perform their best. The site includes the training schedule as well as technical resources for contractors, builders and technicians.

Alliance to Save Energy
A coalition of prominent business, government, environmental and consumer leaders who promote the efficient and clean use of energy worldwide to benefit consumers, the environment, economy, and national security. Their site includes summaries of Alliance programs, links to Alliance Associates, press releases, and a publications list.

American Gas Cooling Center
The American Gas Cooling Center is developing natural gas air conditioning, refrigerations, and dehumidification markets.  Their site includes information on products, educations, members, and events.

Appliance Standards Awareness Project
Appliance and equipment efficiency standards reduce energy use, save consumers and businesses money, and cut power plant pollution that harms public health and the environment. ASAP works to advance and improve standards at both the federal and state levels. Association of Energy Engineers
The Association of Energy Engineers serves over 8,000 members. Their site includes information on courses, conferences, publications, certification, and local chapters.

The Association of Energy Services Professionals
The Association of Energy Services Professionals is a network of nearly 2,000 utility executives, consultants, manufacturers, researchers, government regulators, and others concerned with promoting energy efficiency and other energy services.  Their site includes a newsletter, on-line copies of the Energy Services Journal, and a list of industry events.

Building Energy Codes Program
DOE's Building Energy Codes Program is developing compliance tools and training materials, providing information, and offering technical assistance on building energy codes. Their site contains model energy codes, code compliance materials, training information, news and contacts.

California Air Resources Board
The California Air Resources Board is California State governing agency in charge of air quality. Their site contains the latest CA regulatory news and a Buyer's Guide to Cleaner Cars.

California Energy Commission
The California Energy Commission has an extensive web site featuring information concerning CEC projects and activities, publications, news databases, an energy education tool, and a directory of over 1,000 energy-related internet sites.

California Institute for Energy and Environment
CIEE plans, funds, and manages research and development of new energy efficiency technologies. Their site covers CIEE projects, publications, and participants.

California Measurement Advisory Council
Learn about CALMAC's committee on Market Assessment and Evaluation Statewide Team of Research Organizations (MAESTRO), and CADMAC, CALMAC's sister organization, which handles MA&E issues for programs fielded between January 1, 1994 and December 31, 1997. The site includes a searchable database listing more than 440 MA&E research reports on California evaluations dating from 1990. Downloadable files are available for all evaluations of programs fielded since 1994.

California Public Utilities Commission—Energy Efficiency Groupware Application
This site allows public access to CPUC Energy Efficiency program reports for the 2006-08 program cycle. With this site users can:

Calstart is an industry led consortia dedicated to creating and promoting advanced technology vehicles.  Their site includes a comprehensive catalog and the latest news about ATVs.

Canada's Office of Energy Efficiency
The office of Energy Efficiency is encouraging efficient energy use throughout Canada.  Their site includes program descriptions, publications lists, and some on-line publications.  

Center for Renewable Energy and Sustainable Technology
The Center for Renewable Energy and Sustainable Technology (CREST) is dedicated to the promotion of renewable energy, energy efficiency, the environment, and sustainable development. One of CREST's primary functions is to explore and demonstrate the use of advanced information and communication technologies in these fields.

Centre for the Analysis and Dissemination of Demonstrated Energy Technologies (CADDET)
CADDET, based in the Netherlands, provides information on energy efficiency and renewable energy technologies within industrialized nations through reports, brochures, and a newsletter. Their energy efficiency site includes copies of newsletters, announcements and events, and a publications catalog.

Climate Action Network (CAN)
Network of NGO's whose goal is to promote government and individual action to limit human-induced climate change to ecologically sustainable levels.

Consortium for Energy Efficiency
Founded in 1991, The Consortium for Energy Efficiency (CEE) is a non-profit, public benefit corporation that uses the power of mass markets to advance super energy-efficient technologies that benefit consumers and the environment. They do this by encouraging utilities and other partners across the country to pool their market influence by voluntarily adopting common programs and efficiency specifications.

Cool Cities
So what is a Cool City? These are cities that have made a commitment to stopping global warming by signing the U.S. Mayor’s Climate Protection Agreement. The Cool Cities campaign helps cities turn their commitments into action by pushing for smart energy solutions.

Cool Companies
Cool-Companies.org is the official site of the Center for Energy and Climate Solutions, a one-stop-shop that helps organizations reduce greenhouse gas emissions with practical advice, tools and technologies.

Critical Mass Energy Project .
The Critical Mass Energy Project is sponsored by the public interest group Public Citizen. Their site contains background literature, congressional testimony, fact sheets, and publication lists for a variety of energy related legislation.

E SOURCE is a membership-based, information service company providing independent analysis of markets and technologies.  Their site includes lists of services, publications, and members.

Earth Day Network
Earth Day Network is the nonprofit, coordinating body of worldwide Earth Day activities. Their goal is to promote a healthy environment and a sustainable world by organizing events, activities, and annual campaigns. Their site features Grist Magazine, press releases and an Earth Day Store, among other features.

Ecobroker International
EcoBroker is an educational company that trains real estate professionals on energy and environmental issues.

e-FFICIENCY NEWS
Get the latest inside news on energy-efficiency research, policy, and events with this electronic newsletter published by the Alliance to Save Energy.

Efficient Windows Collaborative
The Efficient Windows web site is sponsored by the Efficient Windows Collaborative (EWC) with support from the U.S. Department of Energy's Windows and Glazings Program and the participation of industry members. This web site provides unbiased information on the benefits of energy-efficient windows, descriptions of how they work, and recommendations for their selection and use. EWC members have made a commitment to manufacture and promote energy-efficient windows.

Energy Center of Wisconsin
A private nonprofit organization dedicated to improving energy efficiency in Wisconsin. Their site includes summaries of research projects, education programs, and ECW publications, and links to members.

Energy.com
Energy.com is an on-line source of consumer information about energy consumption and generation.  Consumers can purchase energy-related products and, for those in states with a deregulated utility industry, choose an energy supplier or join a buying group through the site.

Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Network of the US DOE
EREN is an enormous database and search engine on all aspects of energy efficiency and renewable energy.  The site provides access to a wealth of information about renewable energy and energy efficient technologies.

Energy Efficient Building Association
EEBA promotes energy-efficient and environmentally responsible buildings and communities. Their site includes an electronic bookstore, links to sponsors, conference information, and member news.

Energy-Efficient Procurement Collaborative, Inc.
Member based organization of state and local purchasing officials whose mission is to provide information about energy-efficient and environmentally preferred equipment and products.

Energyguide.com
With ENERGYguide, you can learn how to lower your energy bills, through selecting a new supplier, replacing equipment in your home, or changing the way you use energy. You can also learn how your choices impact the environment. ENERGYguide offers, for sale, a growing list of high quality products to help reduce your energy costs along with the information you need to guide your decisions. Many of the products bear the ENERGY STAR® label from the Environmental Protection Agency. The site also has interactive features.

EnergyIdeas Clearinghouse
The EnergyIdeas Clearinghouse, managed by Washington State University, supports Northwest utility programs by providing information, library research and engineering assistance on energy efficiency. The Product and Technology Review publications assess energy saving claims.

Energy Information Administration
The Energy Information Administration (EIA) is an independent statistical and analytical agency within the U.S. Department of Energy. The EIA site includes downloadable reports on energy consumption in households, commercial buildings, and manufacturing facilities.

Energy Road Maps
The RoadMaps are a guide to retrofitting commercial properties, particularly tenant-occupied office buildings, to improve energy efficiency and reduce operating costs. There are three RoadMaps, each outlining a different approach to reaching the same goal: a high performance, energy efficient building.

Energy Star Products and Programs
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the Department of Energy are promoting the purchase and use of energy-efficient appliances and equipment by awarding the Energy Star label. Their site includes programs descriptions, product specifications, lists of qualifying products and manufacturers, news and updates.

Environmental Law and Policy Center (ELPC)
ELPC is an advocacy organization in the Midwest working to achieve cleaner energy resources and implement sustainable energy strategies,
promote innovative and efficient transportation and land use approaches that produce cleaner air and more jobs, and develop sound environmental management practices that conserve natural resources and improve the quality of life in our communities. European Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy (ECEEE)
Founded in 1993, ECEEE is ACEEE's European sister organization. It is a non-profit, independent organization whose goal is to stimulate energy efficiency through information exchange and pan-European cooperation. Unlike ACEEE, it is membership-based, and the members consist of policy makers, energy practitioners, NGO representatives and researchers involved in the study or promotion of energy efficiency.

Federal Energy Management Program
The Federal Energy Management Program provides information, training, technical assistance, financial support, and demonstrations to help reduce energy waste in federal buildings. The FEMP site includes news and events, descriptions of technical and financial assistance options, showcase facilities, and procurement guidelines.

Federal Fuel Economy Site
The new Federal Fuel Economy website provides official miles-per-gallon numbers for Model Year 2000 cars and light trucks. This newly enhanced government website now includes features for comparing vehicles by fuel cost and global warming pollution.

Flex Your Power
Flex Your Power is California's statewide energy efficiency marketing and outreach campaign. The campaign includes retail promotions, a comprehensive website, an electronic newsletter, educational materials and advertising. Florida Solar Energy Center
The Florida Solar Energy Center researches and promotes energy efficiency and solar energy in Florida. Their site includes project descriptions, on-line research reports, software demos, news and events. Fresh Energy
Fresh Energy is a non profit working toward enhancing our economy, protecting human health and communities, restoring the environment and establishing energy independence. Their site discusses their research, advocacy and policy activities.

Geothermal Heat Pump Consortium
The Geothermal Heat Pump Consortium is attempting to build a sustainable market for ground-source heat pumps. Their site includes a list of GHP suppliers, information on consortium members and activities, and over 100 GHP case studies.

Green Lights Program of the US EPA
The U.S. EPA Green Lights Program encourages the widespread use of energy-efficient lighting. Their site includes a list of Green Lights participants, support services, and on-line manuals and publications.

Heatisonline
This site is based on the book The Heat Is On, by Ross Gelbspan.  The main feature of the site is a 6,000 word text overview on the ability of the planet to sustain civilization vs. the survival of the fossil fuel industry. This site also features a 10-minute multi-media presentation on climate change, a chronicle of the last four years of the increasingly frequent and severe weather events all over the world and a digest of the major scientific findings on global warming.

Home Energy
Home Energy Magazine is dedicated to housing quality, comfort, and energy efficiency.  The Home Energy web site includes an index to all feature articles, some full articles, and energy links.

International Association of Energy-Efficient Lighting
IAEEL organizes conferences, publishes a newsletter, and maintains a network to promote energy-efficient lighting worldwide. Their site includes copies of newsletters, a list of lighting-related meetings and events, and a directory to Internet resources on lighting energy efficiency.

International Council for Local Environmental Initiatives
ICLEI is building and supporting a worldwide movement of local governments to improve global environmental conditions through local actions. More than 240 cities, towns, and counties as members. Their site includes project descriptions, newsletters, and a "tools guide" for local governments.

International Energy Agency Demand-Side Management Programme
IEA's focus is on a compilation and analysis of the impacts of energy-efficiency programs, based on measured data (rather than estimated savings, costs, etc.).

International Energy Foundation
The International Energy Foundation is a non-profit group of scientists, researchers, and engineers whose mission is to facilitate the transfer of research and technology in all areas of energy, with special emphasis on developing countries. Interest lies in better ways to produce, transmit and conserve energy with respect to the technical, economic and human dimensional elements, including global climate change and sustainable development.

International Institute for Energy Conservation
The International Institute for Energy Conservation is a non-profit organization that strives to accelerate the global adoption of energy-efficiency policies, technologies, and practices. Their site includes newsletters, resources, and some on-line publications.  

International Network for Sustainable Energy
With a network of 170 organizations in more than 60 countries, INFORSE fosters information exchange and coordinated campaigns. Their site includes newsletters, project summaries, and a list of members.

Iowa Energy Center
The Iowa Energy Center is a research, demonstration, and educational organization dedicated to increasing energy efficiency and use of renewable energy in Iowa. Their site includes project summaries, information on grants and loans, and educational materials.

Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory
LBNL's Environmental Energy Technologies Division conducts research leading to better energy-efficient technologies that reduce environmental impacts. The site includes an interactive tool for improving home energy efficiency (the Home Energy Saver), as well as newsletters, research reports, and a directory of links to other energy efficiency resources.

Lighting Research Center
The Lighting Research Center (LRC), based at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York, is devoted to promoting lighting that is energy efficient and responsive to human needs. Their site features descriptions of LRC's projects, a catalog of publications, newsletters, and links to other lighting resources.

This web site was created by Ecos Consulting.  Formed by some of the leading experts in industry, government, and the environmental community, Ecos is dedicated to making lighting cleaner, safer and more affordable.  This site has information about halogen torchieres and their alternatives plus a complete on-line catalog of ENERGY STAR®  labeled torchieres.

Midwest Energy Efficiency Alliance
The Midwest Energy Efficiency Alliance is a regional network of organizations collaborating to promote energy efficiency. MEEA's vision is to be a leader in raising and sustaining the level of energy efficiency in the Midwest region by fostering increased market penetration of existing energy-efficient technologies and promoting new technologies, products and best practices, including renewable energy.

Motor Challenge Program
The U.S. Department of Energy's Motor Challenge Program is helping to increase the energy efficiency of motor systems nationwide. Their site includes information on demonstration projects, publications, software, training opportunities, and program participants.

National Association Of Energy Service Companies
NAESCO promotes the delivery of energy efficiency and other energy services by ESCOs. Their site includes information on NAESCO services and activities, international opportunities for ESCOs, news and events, and a list of members.

National Association of State Energy Offices (NASEO)
NASEO, founded in 1986, is a nonprofit corporation whose membership includes energy officials from the state and territory energy offices and affiliates from the private and public sectors. NASEO is the state energy officials' Washington voice on national energy policies and issues — informing the administration, Congress, and regional and national organizations about the specific energy priorities and concerns of the states and territories.

National Fenestration Rating Council (NFRC)
The NFRC is a non-profit, public/private organization created by the window, door and skylight industry. It is comprised of manufacturers, suppliers, builders, architects and designers, specifiers, code officials utilities and government agencies. NFRC's primary goal is to provide accurate information to measure and compare the energy performance of window, door or skylight products.

National Renewable Energy Laboratory
The National Renewable Energy Laboratory, the nation's leading center for renewable energy research, also conducts energy efficiency and energy policy research. Their site features program and project descriptions, partnership opportunities, publications, news and events.

Natural Resources Defense Council
NRDC is a nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting the world's natural resources and ensuring a safe and healthy environment for all.  Their site includes many documents on energy efficiency under the air/energy program.

New Buildings Institute
The NBI is a national collaborative to encourage and support workable energy codes and design guidelines.

New York State Energy Research and Development Authority
A state organization that promotes energy efficiency, encourages economic development, expands use of renewable energy sources, and reduces the environmental effects of energy production through R&D, demonstration, financial and technical assistance projects. Their site includes project descriptions, notices of new projects and RFPs, events, and a publications list.

Northeast Energy Efficiency Partnerships (NEEP)
Northeast Energy Efficiency Partnerships Inc. (NEEP) is a non-profit regional organization founded in 1996 to increase and coordinate energy efficiency efforts in New England, New York and the mid-Atlantic region.

Northwest Energy Efficiency Alliance
The Northwest Energy Efficiency Alliance is a consortium of utilities, governments, public interest groups, and the private sector dedicated to transforming markets for energy-efficient products and services in the Pacific Northwest. Their site includes project summaries, news, links to members, and a link to CONWEB - the Pacific Northwest Energy Conservation and Renewable Energy Newsletter.

Northeast Sustainable Energy Association (NESEA)
The Northeast Sustainable Energy Association is a regional membership organization focused on promoting the understanding, development, and adoption of energy conservation and non-polluting, renewable energy technologies. They work to bring clean electricity, green transportation, and healthy, efficient buildings into everyday use in order to improve the environment, protect human health, and nurture local economies.

Oak Ridge National Laboratory's Energy Efficiency & Renewable Energy Program
Scientists and engineers at ORNL conduct a wide range of basic and applied research and development to advance the nation's energy resources, environmental quality, scientific knowledge, educational foundations, and economic competitiveness. Their energy efficiency and renewable energy program web site includes on-line publications, databases, project descriptions, and news.

Office of Industrial Technologies
The Department of Energy's Office of Industrial Technologies (OIT) supports the development and deployment of advanced energy efficiency, renewable energy, and pollution prevention technologies.  Their site includes descriptions of projects and programs, solicitations, and news.

1000 Friends of Oregon
1000 Friends of Oregon's LUTRAQ Project successfully introduced alternatives to road-building in the Portland, OR area.  Their site contains much information on land use planning for greater transportation efficiency.

Office of Mobile Sources
EPA's Office of Mobile Sources is responsible for air pollution regulation and compliance from motor vehicles.  Their site includes regulatory updates, emission models, consumer information, and light duty vehicle fuel economy data.

OurEarth.org
OurEarth.org is a nonprofit organization which promotes environmental education and awareness. The OurEarth.org Web site has a comprehensive national directory with information on energy and water conservation, recycling, and other environmental programs.

Pace Energy Project
The Project plays a leading role in a national coalition of environmental and consumer advocates who are working to create win-win energy policy solutions for America's economy and environment.

Pacific Energy Center
The Energy Center offers educational programs, design tools, advice, and support to create energy efficient buildings and comfortable indoor environments. Most of its efforts are focused around commercial buildings; however, other departments offer advice and information for residential buildings.

Partnership for a New Generation of Vehicles
This partnership between the U. S. Government and USCAR (Chrysler, Ford, and GM) advances automotive technologies with a goal of tripling the fuel efficiency of new vehicles over the long run.  Their site contains program plans and goals, accomplishments, project summaries, news and information about participants.

Regulatory Assistance Project
The Regulatory Assistance Project (RAP) is a non-profit organization that provides workshops and education assistance to state public utility regulators on electric utility regulation. Their work covers a wide range of topics including electric utility restructuring, power sector reform, renewable resource development, the development of competitive markets, performance based regulation, demand-side management, and Green Pricing.

Southface Energy Institute
The Southface Energy Institute works to promote environmentally sustainable homes, workplaces and communities through education, research, advocacy and technical assistance. Programs such as the Greenprints conference and tradeshow foster the Southface mission and present quality learning opportunities for those new to green building, in addition to offering a dynamic forum for for design and construction professionals to interact with experts.

Southwest Energy Efficiency Project (SWEEP)
The Southwest Energy Efficiency Project (SWEEP) is a new public interest initiative promoting greater energy efficiency in a six-state region that includes Arizona, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico, Utah, and Wyoming.

Surface Transportation Policy Project
STPP works to move transportation policy toward energy conservation, environmental protection and social equity.  Their site is a good source of information about TEA-21 and other transportation policy issues.

Sustainable Business.com
Sustainable Business.com is a focal point for the sustainable business community on the Internet. Their site consists of the Sustainable Business Insider journal, Library, Sustainable Business Opportunities, and Green Dream Jobs.

Sustainable Energy Coalition
The Sustainable Energy Coalition brings together more than 30 national business, environmental, consumer, and energy policy organizations. Founded in 1992, the Coalition promotes increased federal support for energy efficiency and renewable energy technologies and reduced federal support for unsafe or polluting energy resources.

Tellus Institute
The Tellus Institute is a nonprofit research and consulting organization with programs in four areas -- energy, solid waste, risk analysis, and international energy and environmental studies. Their energy group site includes a newsletter, project descriptions and on-line copies of some reports.

Texas A & M Energy Systems Laboratory
The Energy Systems Laboratory performs energy efficiency research and helps to implement the Texas LoanSTAR program, a premier state building retrofit program. Their site features publications, conference information, and information on the LoanSTAR program.

Union of Concerned Scientists
UCS is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing responsible public policies in areas where science and technology play a critical role. The UCS web site includes an in-depth examination of global warming as well as energy efficiency, renewable energy, and transportation issues.

World Energy Efficiency Association
WEEA is a non-profit organization that assists developing countries in accessing information on energy efficiency, disseminates information, and serves as an information clearinghouse. Their site includes on-line reports, newsletters, and a directory of worldwide energy efficiency institutions.
