WE’LL SEE YOU IN NEW YORK! 2007 SUMMER STUDY ON ENERGY EFFICIENCY IN INDUSTRY

We are days away from the 2007 Summer Study on Energy Efficiency in Industry which will take place July 24-27, 2007 in White Plains, New York at the Renaissance Westchester Hotel. Presentations of 82 peer-reviewed papers in six different panels, as well as display presentations, informal sessions, site tours, and plenaries—including presentations by the winners of the Champions of Industrial Energy Efficiency Awards—will make this a memorable conference.

The theme of this year’s Summer Study is Improving Industrial Competitiveness: Adapting to Volatile Energy Markets, Globalization, and Environmental Constraints and the Co-Chairs are Lawrence Kavanagh, Vice President–Manufacturing and Technology, American Iron and Steel Institute and Kelly Kissock, Associate Professor, Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, University of Dayton. NYSERDA is the host sponsor.

The cost of energy is an increasingly large component of U.S. manufacturing cost. Factoring in energy conservation and substitution strategies and the need to operate manufacturing plants as sustainable enterprises, it becomes clear that both industry and energy markets must adapt to assure a sound U.S. economy. The 2007 “Industry” Summer Study will offer opportunities to learn about a wide variety of cutting-edge energy strategies, technologies, measures, programs, and policies that cut energy costs, improve energy reliability, reduce energy price volatility, and enhance industrial productivity.

In addition to the formal presentations scheduled for the mornings, participant-organized Informal Sessions are planned for the afternoons. Schedule your Informal Session online before the conference.

ACEEE will also present its Champions of Industrial Energy Efficiency Awards which recognize leadership and accomplishment in the industrial energy efficiency field on Wednesday evening, July 25.

You may still register for the “Industry” Summer Study”. Registration is $895 per person. One-day registration is $325. See the “Industry” Summer Study site for further information, including the full list of sponsors, the Session Schedule, and descriptions of the site tours organized by NYSERDA.
