ACEEE & NEMA AGREE TO INCREASED EFFICIENCY STANDARDS FOR INDUSTRIAL ELECTRICAL MOTORS
Last week, ACEEE and the National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) announced their agreement to support rising minimum efficiency levels for motors covered by federal standards in federal energy legislation, while also expanding the scope of product covered. These standards will result in 8 trillion kWh of savings in 2030 and reduce U.S. carbon emissions by about 2.4 MMT by that date. The agreement also includes tax incentives for NEMA Premium motors that would result in an additional 0.5 trillion kWh.
