INTRODUCTION
While the old adage "Don't Wish Your Life Away" conveys a laudable
sentiment, here at ACEEE we can't help but embrace the fast approach
of summer. Anticipation for the "Industry" Summer Study mounts as
the final refereed papers arrive in packages in myriad shapes and
sizes and the nominations received for Champions of Energy Efficiency
in Industry cite good work being everywhere. Just days from now,
the Early Bird Registration
deadline arrives on May 20. We hope you plan to join us this
summer at the 2005 ACEEE Summer Study on Energy Efficiency in
Industry, July 19 22 at The Thayer Hotel, West Point, New
York.
"Cutting the High Cost of Energy" is the theme of the 2005 "Industry"
Summer Study where presentations
of 100 peer-reviewed papers and 19 poster displays will be featured.
Participants can organize
Informal Sessions to be held in the afternoons and/or participate
in Site Tours scheduled by Host Sponsor NYSERDA.
In addition to thought-provoking plenaries (watch the Web site
for continual updates on the program), ACEEE will award the 2005
Champions of Energy Efficiency in Industry on July 21st. The deadline
for nominations for the
Champions awards is May 27, 2005.
Host Sponsor is the New
York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA).
