INTRODUCTION

While the old adage "Don't Wish Your Life Away" conveys a laudable sentiment, here at ACEEE we can't help but embrace the fast approach of summer. Anticipation for the "Industry" Summer Study mounts as the final refereed papers arrive in packages in myriad shapes and sizes and the nominations received for Champions of Energy Efficiency in Industry cite good work being everywhere. Just days from now, the Early Bird Registration deadline arrives on May 20. We hope you plan to join us this summer at the 2005 ACEEE Summer Study on Energy Efficiency in Industry, July 19 – 22 at The Thayer Hotel, West Point, New York.

"Cutting the High Cost of Energy" is the theme of the 2005 "Industry" Summer Study where presentations of 100 peer-reviewed papers and 19 poster displays will be featured. Participants can organize Informal Sessions to be held in the afternoons and/or participate in Site Tours scheduled by Host Sponsor NYSERDA.

In addition to thought-provoking plenaries (watch the Web site for continual updates on the program), ACEEE will award the 2005 Champions of Energy Efficiency in Industry on July 21st. The deadline for nominations for the Champions awards is May 27, 2005.
