The Energy Efficiency Finance Forum, scheduled for April 12-13, 2007 in New York at The New York Helmsley Hotel, will bring together current and potential investors in energy efficiency in order to learn more about this growing sector. This will be the first-ever conference to focus on market drivers, technologies, innovative financing structures, and regulatory issues affecting investments in energy efficiency. Be among the first to evaluate the market and the technologies and to spend time networking with "who's who" in the industry. View the program, and find out how to register.

The 2007 Summer Study on Energy Efficiency in Industry will be held July 24-27, 2007 in White Plains, New York at the Renaissance Westchester Hotel. The theme of this year’s Summer Study is Improving Industrial Competitiveness: Adapting to Volatile Energy Markets, Globalization, and Environmental Constraints and the Co-Chairs are Lawrence Kavanagh, Vice President–Manufacturing and Technology, American Iron and Steel Institute and Kelly Kissock, Associate Professor, Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, University of Dayton. NYSERDA is the host sponsor.

The cost of energy is an increasingly large component of U.S. manufacturing cost. Factoring in energy conservation and substitution strategies and the need to operate manufacturing plants as sustainable enterprises, it becomes clear that both industry and energy markets must adapt to assure a sound U.S. economy. The 2007 “Industry” Summer Study will offer opportunities to learn about a wide variety of cutting-edge energy strategies, technologies, measures, programs, and policies that cut energy costs, improve energy reliability, reduce energy price volatility, and enhance industrial productivity. ACEEE will also present its Champions of Industrial Energy Efficiency Awards which recognize leadership and accomplishment in the industrial energy efficiency field. To learn more about these awards or to submit a nomination, please visit http://aceee.org/conf/07ss/07ssindex.htm#Champions. Early Bird Registration is $695 per person until June 22. One-day registration is $325. Visit the Summer Study Web site for all the current details, including the full list of sponsors, abstracts selected for presentation as peer-reviewed papers, and to register online.

Just Announced! Save the Date for This Fall 2007 Conference

ACEEE’s 4th National Conference on Energy Efficiency as a Resource will take place September 30-October 2, 2007 in Berkeley, California at the Claremont Hotel. The importance of energy efficiency as a utility resource has never been greater — the energy industry faces high and rising costs, growing concerns about system reliability, and heightened awareness of global warming. The conference is an ideal opportunity to explore cutting-edge issues relating to the energy efficiency resource, including such things as: decoupling, shareholder incentives, and other regulatory reforms to encourage utility investment in energy efficiency programs; integrating energy efficiency with other demand management tools (e.g., demand response programs and rate design) to enhance system reliability; incorporating energy efficiency program effects into meeting state and utility environmental objectives (including global warming related goals); and using energy efficiency to help achieve state and local economic objectives. Watch the ACEEE Web site for updated program and registration details.
